My Babies?

Years ago my daughters donned our "old people" masks and went to the neighbors for a visit. It was cute how they played it up and wearing them with shorts made it even funnier! They must have been about 8 and 5 at the they are 18 and a month-away-from-15! They grow up sooo fast! I mean seriously, look at their wrinkles!!!

The Farm Chicks Christmas

I just love Christmas books! The bookshelves in my studio are full of them, keep them "at the ready" all year. I get them out year, after year, after year...Purchased this one at The Creative Connection. Forgot to bring it to the book signing to have Serena sign it - Dang! This time of year I really get excited to decorate for Christmas so I place the book or magazine I'm inspired by that day, open to the page that's "grabbing me" and then I study it off and on all day.

This was yesterday's inspiring page. Guess we're going to have to start collecting those darling metal toy trucks AND shiny metallic green Christmas trees and wreaths AND.....

And this was today's page. The colors are so happy and it feels quite retro to me. Probably the ribbon candy and red hots! Can you tell what decade I was born in? hee hee Totally takes me back - Sigh
Visit Serena's blog - it will make you smile!

Holidays With Matthew Mead

Have you seen the info for the new book-a-zine Matthew Mead is putting out soon? Remember him...used to be a contributing editor for Country Home Magazine? Well you just have to pop on over to his blog and see what he, his wife Jennifer and their team have been up to all year! Should be fabulous if these teaser pictures are any indication!

This new magazine just went to the printer and should be in mailboxes shortly. The only way to order it is to go to his site and order online only.

This is a taste of what Matthew says his new book-a-zine will be like...a post from his blog dated Oct.18.

We all know publishing has changed these last few years and I have to say that after perusing the latest installments of what's left of the shelter and lifestyle magazines many are short on ideas and content and filled with ads for laundry detergent, flooring and dolls (all not terribly inspiring).

What we are doing with HOLIDAY is something new and different. We have a few very special sponsors in the home and lifestyle genre and then many, many pages of stories and ideas. I want to assure you that all of the content was created specifically for this issue and has never been seen anywhere else. It is NOT a collection of reprinted material, and it is part of my commitment to you, the readers, to only use fresh material to entertain, inspire and engage you in everything HOLIDAY.

This week, the issue will go through its final proofing phases and I am hopeful that by Friday it will be in print and bound and in my hands. The cover is still cloaked in mystery because I feel that it is such a big part of the surprise. I may cave on that but I am not sure yet. We will visit the printer this week and take shots of the magazine as it runs on the press... We will number and date the first hundred copies and place some in archival boxes for our own time capsule. This is a big moment for me and I am looking to savor every aspect of it.

Holiday with Matthew Mead is sold only via his website.
Have you ordered your copy yet?
Visit his blog for a fun look at behind-the-scenes and to order your very own copy.

All Sewers Club at The Sewing Palace

Tomorrow I'll be giving a little schpeel down at The Sewing Palace during their All Sewers Club. This club is always informational and fun! This is a free lecture/demo class they hold once-a-month and demonstrate all kinds of tricks, techniques and new products. They are now selling my patterns (yippee!) and are allowing me to give a little info about them. And...if you have been to any of the club sessions I've helped with, you know I won't come without a side show! Always more fun if you can actually see what a person is talking about. So there will be a few slides of The Creative Connection event I attended as a vendor in Sept. Here are a few sneak peaks of what the class will see.

If you're out and about in Helena tomorrow...Stop by at 1:00 or 6:00! I promise we'll have fun!!

How to use Etsy:  Visit to see all the different categories of handmade items for sale by craftspeople and artits from around the globe. You can also shop your own local areas by city or state.

To visit my Etsy shop:  You will see a box on my side bar that says "My Esty". It shows a couple items that I carry in the shop and you can click on them directly to see those items or you can click on the words under the items that say PomPomsandPolkadots  and that will take you to the main page of my shop. My Nephew's Wedding

Last weekend my dad and I attended my nephew's wedding in Omaha, Nebraska and everything went off beautifully! Spencer and his lovely bride Kris had a wonderful time at the wedding and reception and we
couldn't be happier for them!

Spencer and Kris...Darling couple don't you think? And Kris looks like she just stepped off the cover of Brides Magazine!

Spencer and "the girls". I love this pic!
We also had a lovely time visiting my sister Missy and her family for a few days after the wedding. Thank you Missy and fam for the nice tour of Omaha (sure has changed after all these years) and for all the great food and hospitality!
