The Organizing Class

We had so much fun Tuesday at The Sewing Palace here in Helena! Julie (Manager of The Sewing Palace) and I taught the once-a-month free lecture /demo class on organizing your sewing space. We covered lighting, storage, weeding out, decorating and painting, tools of the trade and ergonomics of sewing. Julie's daughter Patti of King Pelican Interiors and Design gave a presentation about making your sewing space into a space you love to be in that reflects your personality. We were also delighted to have Annette Petty speak about the process she took in getting her sewing space published in the winter issue of Studios Magazine . Such a lovely and feminine "Pink" studio!

This free monthly class called All Sewers Club is fabulous! They cover different topics each month and demo new techniques, old techniques, new products from quilt markets, feature different speakers, demo machine feet and explain their uses, and many other fun ideas. They also have class members bring their "show and tell" projects and those folks get their name in for a door prize drawing. If you live here you really should attend each month. Great way to learn lots of useful things about sewing, quilting, embroidery, etc. And they schedule the class at 1:00 p.m. and repeat it again at 6:00 p.m. Always something fun going on at The Sewing Palace!
We set up a display in the classroom that mimicked a cozy sewing space.
Organizing and sewing items were special features of the day.

Beautiful cabinets were part of the display.

Isn't this cabinet "The Ultimate"? Maybe that's why the company named it The Ultimate Sewing Cabinet!
